Dan Hudson and National Water Main Cleaning’s James Fleming (Project Engineer) met up with Susan McLoughlin from the Salem Government Channel to speak about their recent UV Lining project. The project consisted of about 1,500 linear feet of pipeline near a wetland bike path.
Due to some recent leakages within the sewer pipelines, NWMCC was contracted by the town of Salem to install a UV Cured-in-Place-Pipe (CIPP). This process is completed by measuring the appropriate length of liner, inserting it within the existing (damaged) pipeline, and passing a light train tool through the pipeline to harden the liner with UV light. This process seals out any leaks and creates a new, reinforced pipeline.
