About the Position:

The primary function of the Diesel Mechanic is to: diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul trucks, equipment, and all types of diesel engines. This is in a small shop environment. Compliance with all DOT, Company and Safety Policies, procedures and practices are required.

Position: Diesel Mechanic

Location: Dearborn, MI

Pay: Base Wage up to $28.00 DOE plus Fringes

Total Hourly Compensation $38-$42 per hour DOE

Monthly Tool Allowance / Annual Boot Allowance

*Operating Engineers 324 Union Location* BCBS, pension, vacation fund, as well as other union benefits after 90 Day probationary period.

Shift: 40 hours per week overtime available

Shift premium available for Afternoon Shift

Job Functions:

· Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, maintains, diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment.

· Work with and instruct field personnel in correct operation of trucks and equipment.

· Document preventive maintenance efforts as required to achieve compliance with D.O.T. regulations.

· Prioritize safety

· Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems

· Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns

Requirements:

· Willingness to work with a team.

· Is conscientious, dependable, and quality-focused

· Valid Driver’s License required.

· Candidate must be willing to obtain a CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement by 90th day of employment.

· Must have own tools.

· Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.

· Ability to pass safety training exams and the background check required
